MANAGER, FUEL PROCUREMENT

 

Western Fuels Association's Westminster office has an immediate opening for a Manager, Fuel Procurement.The Manager, Fuel Procurement position reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Western Fuels Association.  The primary responsibility of the position is to ensure a reliable and competitively priced coal supply to its member’s power plants.

  • Responsible for the procurement of approximately 18 million tons of coal per year for Western Fuels Association members
  • Administer all rail and coal contracts to ensure supplier compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Lead negotiations for rail and coal contracts
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with individual plant coal procurement strategies
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with member’s power plants
  • Prepare coal pricing forecasts
  • Produce all production and financial fuel related reports

Applicants must have the following:

  • 5 years utility procurement experience
  • 5 years management experience
  • Fuelworx software knowledge a plus

LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEER/ELECTRICIAN

 

Western Fuels New Mexico has an immediate opening for a Locomotive Engineer/Electrician for a short-line railroad located near Grants, New Mexico, located approximately 80 miles west of Albuquerque.

Applicants must be capable of troubleshooting and modifications and repairs of all electrical systems of SD40-2 locomotives. Must have a minimum of six years experience. Candidate will also be trained as a locomotive engineer for unit coal train service.

Successful applicant will be utilized as a locomotive engineer for unit coal train service and must also be willing to participate in weekly or as-needed maintenance and/or fueling of diesel locomotives and maintenance of gondola coal cars. Forty-hour work week with occasional overtime required. Current work schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week.

ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR / MANAGER

 

Western Fuels' Dry Fork Mine has an immediate opening for an Accounting Supervisor / Manager at the mine located near Gillette, Wyoming.

Applicants must have the following:

  • Ten years experience in an accounting environment.
  • Five years experience in a senior or supervisory position.
  • Degree in accounting or business administration.
  • Knowledge of coal related taxes and royalties in Wyoming would be a plus.
  • Strong computer and software knowledge including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, or comparable programs, and other computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong leadership, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Individual chosen must be able to demonstrate high level of integrity and teamwork.

Western Fuels' Dry Fork Mine has an immediate opening for an Accounting/Payroll Specialist at the mine located near Gillette, Wyoming.

  • Three years experience in an accounting environment.
  • Degree in accounting or business administration would be a plus.
